11/30
Well it has been awhile since I have written a blog. I am still on my journey and still losing weight which is good. Things have picked up in my life as far as coaching basketball, finding out my baby on the way is going to be a boy, and lots of celebrations. I had birthday parties for my father and niece Emma all in the same week. Along with that, my first holiday challenge also fell in the same week. It started with my father's birthday which I enjoyed. I did eat a hearty dinner that night which was Wednesday. Of course the next day had to be Thanksgiving where I enjoyed many adult beverages and another delicious meal cooked my my mother-in-law. Needless to say my weight loss was severely effected. I worked out hard Friday and Saturday mornings to try to make up for it. Finally on Sunday I had my niece's party where I behaved myself for the most part and did not eat a ton of food. I did however enjoy cake. By the end of the weekend I realized that I had a phenomenal time, but set myself back in my goals. I was angry with myself at first and wanted to give up because of frustration. It was at this point I remembered that this is a lifestyle change and not a quick fix. I came to my first challenge and did not do as well as I would have liked. Rather than be upset, and angry I decided to take it in stride and move on. I have better prepared myself for the next challenge and also have learned from mistakes. My partner through this journey, Ryan, has kept me focused and we are constantly talking about success and setbacks. It really does help having someone go through it with you. Anyone going through this journey, keep moving forward and working hard. I wish you luck. I'm going to try to stay on top of my blogs and report back more. Plus Ryan may never forgive me if I slack on them again.
